Welcome to Band of America
Welcome to the Band of America. We are a community-based, all-volunteer symphonic band of approximately 100 musicians from the greater Atlanta area.

Band of America was founded in 1948 as an ensemble of professional musicians in New York City. With Paul Lavalle as conductor, Band of America performed frequently at Radio City Music Hall and many other notable venues.  Read more about the band’s history here . Band of America relocated to Atlanta in 2006.

Our goal is to give proficient adult musicians an opportunity to perform challenging music in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere and more importantly, impart lasting musical and social values to the band’s musicians, our audience, and the community as a whole. We strive to produce wind music played at its best, and to open the eyes of many to the limitless possibilities of the wind band.

In addition to the Concert Band, a brass ensemble, saxophone quartet, and woodwind ensemble are in preparation for upcoming concerts.

 *** NOTICES ***

Normally we rehearse in the band room but while the air conditioning and roof are being repaired, we are rehearsing in the Assembly Hall on the opposite side of the building. Use the Kingswood Lane entrance off of Northside Drive (next to the Church). The Assembly Hall is the football shaped building on the left. We will be rehearsing there until further notice.
