Lauded as a weekend “best bet” in the Atlanta Journal Constitution last season, the AGMC's holiday performance at the Cathedral has become an annual tradition for thousands of people. This season, in a concert featuring songs from the classic movie "White Christmas," the AGMC pays tribute to the great winter outdoors, accompanied by Atlanta's finest brass players. "All Spruced Up ...And Know Where to Go!" has the men of the chorus busy trimming trees, hanging ornaments, and pressing their shirts to look and sound their best in this fun-filled family event. Come start the New Year right with the Southeast's premiere male chorus.

Summer ConcertLush Life: The Music of Billy Strayhorn

Friday & Saturday, July 31 - August 1
Symphony Hall
Woodruff Arts Center, Atlanta

Every hero's journey begins with a call to adventure. The road of trials, a goal achieved and a triumphant return is the story of any gay man coming to terms with factions and faiths that shun him. Every journey seems different, but is it? In this groundbreaking performance, the AGMC explores the relationship between homosexuality and spirituality, featuring real-life struggles from members of the chorus. Narrated by Christian de la Huerta (Coming Out Spiritually), this thought-provoking program also includes a display of the Shower of Stoles Project.

The biggest concert in AGMC history will honor the work of Billy Strayhorn, the African-American and openly gay composer of such classics as "Take the A-Train," "Satin Doll," "Lush Life" and many other tunes made famous by Duke Ellington. Shimmering arrangements for male voices are woven together by characters of the women who were closest to the composer, including Lena Horne and Ruth Ellington Boatwright. Presented in collaboration with Jazz Orchestra Atlanta and featuring guest star Donzaleigh Abernathy, this concert promises to be a highlight of Atlanta's summer musical events!
