About Us

The ACA is an association of professional, student and amateur clarinetists. We were founded in 1998 by Luan Mueller (www.luanclarinet.com)  as an extention of the International Clarinet Association (www.clarinet.org). We typically hold two major events each year, bringing the finest clarinet performers and teachers from around the world to Atlanta for masterclass and concert events in an intimate setting. Over the years, we have had the honor of hosting Arthur Campbell, Sean Osborn, John Cipolla and Karl Leister as well as top local teachers and freelance musicians.

Our Mission

The mission of the Atlanta Clarinet Association is to promote artistic excellence for clarinetists through performance events including public master classes and recitals; educational opportunities including clinics, and technique building classes; provide grants and scholarships to enhance individual achievement; maintain an interactive web site advertising job opportunities, a calendar of events, and networking capability with the membership; sponsor a metropolitan area clarinet choir to encourage social interaction, and commission new musical works for the clarinet. The aim of these activities is to foster and enhance a collaborative and interwoven musical community of professional and non-professional clarinetists, and promote and enrich the music life and music culture for all people in the Atlanta, Georgia region.

The ACA is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

Governance

The ACA is managed by a committee of four elected officers. Our bylaws are available here (Adobe Acrobat pdf format)
